1. English for International Business
This module explores the complex decision-making involved in trading internationally, including selecting appropriate markets for products and services. It focuses on planning and research to evaluate market alternatives, assess resource requirements, analyse financial viability, and address cultural challenges. Learners will consider how to develop and present a robust business case to senior management to support international growth. The module also examines the selection of suitable partners, such as exporters, local firms, or agents, to support market entry. Once a viable market is identified, learners will develop a marketing strategy, including campaigns and promotions, to support successful product introduction and growth in the new market.
2. Leadership, Management and Entrepreneurship
This module explores the knowledge, behaviours, and skills required for effective leadership in entrepreneurial and organisational contexts. Learners will analyse leadership styles, communication approaches, and motivational techniques, and evaluate how these can be adapted to meet individual and team needs. The module examines ethical and inclusive leadership, alongside the role of self-awareness in building trust and accountability. Learners will also assess entrepreneurial decision-making, innovation, and approaches to managing change and continuous improvement. Emphasis is placed on applying leadership practices to embed corporate responsibility and sustainability while driving positive outcomes across organisations.
3. Fundamentals of Marketing
This module introduces learners to the strategic and dynamic nature of marketing through real-world applications and decision-making scenarios. It examines how environmental factors such as social, economic, technological, legal, and ethical influences shape contemporary marketing practice. Using case studies and practical examples, learners will develop an understanding of how these factors affect marketing decisions and strategies. The module equips learners with essential knowledge and skills to market products, services, and ideas effectively in a global context. By the end of the module, learners will confidently use marketing terminology, explain core marketing concepts, and recognise the role of marketing in both organisational success and professional self-promotion.
4. Communicating Corporate Responsibility and Business Sustainability
This module introduces learners to the core principles and practices of Corporate Responsibility (CR) and sustainable business. It examines the evolving role of CR in addressing ethical, social, and environmental challenges while meeting stakeholder expectations and supporting organisational performance. Learners will analyse key frameworks, governance structures, and sector-specific influences on Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (CR&S). The module combines theoretical understanding with applied learning, enabling learners to assess how CR&S can be integrated into business strategy and operations and to evaluate the impact of related initiatives across diverse organisational contexts.
5. Human Resource, Organisational Culture and Collaboration
This module provides learners with an in-depth understanding of organisational culture and its role in shaping collaboration within teams and across organisations. It explores how culture influences business practices, employee behaviour, decision-making, and performance. By examining cultural models, leadership approaches, and conflict management strategies, learners will develop the skills needed to assess, manage, and enhance collaboration in diverse organisational environments. The module emphasises the importance of effective human resource practices in fostering positive workplace relationships and organisational success.
6. Corporate Finance Strategy
This module develops learners’ understanding of corporate finance and its role in supporting strategic decision-making. It focuses on key areas such as financial analysis, strategic planning, investment appraisal, and risk management within a business context. Learners will also examine the legal and regulatory frameworks that govern financial and business operations, enabling them to identify and manage financial and legal risks effectively. The module is designed for those seeking to progress careers in finance, management, or related fields and emphasises ethical, informed, and compliant financial decision-making in organisational settings.
7. Project Risk Management
This module introduces key project management principles and tools, with a particular focus on their application in Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (CR&S) contexts. Learners will explore the project lifecycle, team roles, and the importance of defining scope, objectives, and success criteria. The module examines project constraints and tools such as Gantt charts and critical path analysis, applying them to CR&S projects influenced by ethics, sustainability, and stakeholder engagement. Learners will plan and manage a CR&S project or event, including budgeting, negotiation, data handling, and outcome measurement using qualitative and quantitative methods. The module concludes with an evaluation of project performance and reflective learning for improvement.
8. Innovation and eBusiness
This module examines the concept, application, and strategic value of eBusiness and the reasons organisations invest in digital business models. It explores how businesses can successfully introduce and manage eBusiness initiatives while responding to technological change. Learners will consider the future development of eBusiness, including emerging challenges and opportunities, and analyse how successful digital business models have evolved. The module provides an understanding of how digital technologies are transforming business operations, competition, and value creation, preparing learners to participate in or manage eBusiness activities in a rapidly changing digital environment.
