Course Summary

The Certificate In General Management (Mandarin) / Certificate In General Management (Mandarin) (E-Learning) course is a pre-diploma preparatory programmed designed to provide the basics of management that will be necessary for students to first build a solid technical foundation and subsequently channel into management-related programmed at higher levels. It is structured as per the fundamentals of the management discipline, encapsulating the core functions of management. Upon completion of the module, students should be able to possess a rudimentary overview of management and its key functions. This course is comprised of 4 modules.

Admission Criteria

Qualification Entry Requirements: 

  • Passed any 1 subject in GCE O-level
  • Or completed 9 years of formal education
  • Or equivalent qualifications
  • Or no qualifications but with at least 3 years work experience, subjected to review after interview conducted by United Ceres College

Mandarin Requirements: 

  • Completed 9-year formal education with Mandarin as instruction medium

Minimum Age: 16

What You Will Learn

1. CGM101(M) Introduction to Management

This introductory module is designed to initiate students into the management discipline. It aims to define management, its nature and key functions, and managerial skills necessary to be a successful manager. By the end of this module, students will be able to understand the basic knowledge and skills within the management domain.

2. CGM102(M) Introduction to Business Communication

This module scopes the sharing of information that is essential in achieving corporate goals in the current knowledge-based economy. It highlights the importance of business communication with a specific focus on teamwork and interpersonal skills. By the end of this module, students will be able to understand the significance of business communication and apply communication skills in team settings.

3. CGM103(M) Introduction to Human Resource Management

This module provides a comprehensive overview of human resource management. It introduces the key concepts, functions, and skills of human resource management in highly cross-cultural environments. Upon completion of this module, students will have a good understanding of core theories and necessary skills of human resource management.

4. CGM104(M) Introduction to Marketing

This module introduces the importance of marketing in managing a business. It aims to cover the definition, features, functions, process, scope, and tools of marketing. By the end of the module, students should be able to engage in marketing activities with the help of the fundamental concepts, insightful theories, and principles learnt.
