3 Months / 72 HoursThe Certificate in English Level 2 course is specially designed for students who wish to develop their English language foundation prior to entering the certificate or diploma programmes where the medium of instruction is English. Highly function-based, skill-specific and input-output-structured with level-appropriate knowledge and skills, this course features a linguistically effective and systematic brush-up of four language skills—Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing that is necessary to facilitate advancement into the certificate or diploma courses that will be conducted English.

1. CEL2101 Listening
The Listening module is designed to improve pronunciation and listening comprehension of the English language. It features topic-based conversations and interactive exercises that develop the listening skills students will need to do well in their studies. Upon completion of this module, students will be able to distinguish and correctly apply what they have learnt into relevant situations and topics.
2. CEL2102 Speaking
The Speaking module intends to build up student’s confidence and speaking fluency. It provides opportunities for students to practice their speaking skills through specially designed tasks and activities while also well complemented with the listening module. Upon completion of this module, students will be able to apply the speaking skills acquired in practice and express their thoughts in different types of communication.
3. CEL2103 Reading
The Reading module is designed to improve student‘s comprehension in reading English and form good reading habits. It aims to enrich students’ vocabulary and develop reading skills with the aid of carefully selected excerpts in various topics. Upon completion of this module, students will be able to build up their reading vocabulary and develop reading skills to understand various types of passages.
4. CEL2104 Writing
The Writing module is designed to help students develop and improve their writing capacity. It features different types of model texts, useful sentence structures, writing tips and exercises that train the writing skills. Upon completion of the module, students should be able to apply the correct sentence structures and formats in their writing.
