If you’re an international student joining United Ceres College (UCC), you’ll likely need a Student’s Pass (STP) from Singapore’s Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA). The process is straightforward—this guide walks you through eligibility, required documents, and every step until your pass is issued.
Applications should be submitted 2–3 months before your course begins. This timeframe ensures sufficient processing. If you require a visa to enter Singapore, your application may take longer, so early preparation is strongly recommended.
To complete your application, have the following ready:
Tip: If you require a visa, the In-Principle Approval (IPA) letter doubles as your entry visa. Always keep both digital and physical copies of your documents in case ICA requests originals.
The required documents vary depending on your country of origin.
For students from visa-required countries (e.g. China, India, Myanmar)
For students from non-visa countries (e.g. Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka)
Additional notes: If you have worked since graduation, you must provide an employment letter. If you have taken short courses, certificates or school letters should also be included.
The application process is online through ICA’s SOLAR+ system.
Once your IPA is issued, UCC will arrange the following services before enrolment:
Upon cancellation of your Student’s Pass, you may be issued a Short-Term Visit Pass (STVP), subject to ICA’s approval. You must leave Singapore on or before the expiry date stated on your STVP unless you have obtained another valid immigration pass.
As the permitted duration of stay may vary, you are responsible for checking the validity of your STVP and ensuring compliance with ICA’s requirements.
The Student’s Pass (STP) is issued in digital form only. The ICA will notify you by email on the same day once it has been issued.
To make your arrival smoother:
ICA’s typical processing time is around 14 working days, although peak periods may take longer. If your application is rejected, appeals may take up to four weeks. IPA letters are only released after UCC has received your course fees.
As a Student’s Pass (STP) holder, you are required to follow the conditions set by Singapore’s Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) and comply with Singapore laws. Failure to do so may result in serious consequences, including fines, imprisonment, or cancellation of your Student’s Pass.
